I always loved this series when I was younger. Brilliant writing my Ms. Fletcher - this was one of the things that got me started with dragons.
You captured the start of the story brilliantly my friend. Too bad it gets tragic soon after this.
Also I agree with Javavenos on this - it should be a game series or even a movie series. I honestly think it'd make an epic one.
