The gun reminds me of the M41A pulse rifle from Alien; I love that gun. I also like the gold trim and decoration on the armor, it makes me think of Roman soldiers or maybe Medieval knights, all while still maintaining the futuristic look. And one more thing to add, the soldier's tough, 'I've-been-through-hell' sort of expression contrasts perfectly with his armor's polished look. Excellent work, 10 out of 10.
The armor looks cool, but... I don't know, his face doesn't seems to match. It seems like it's photoshoped in there (wierd thing to say about something partially made in photoshop, but you got the point >P)
I'm sure I'm not the only one around here considering you as a drawing guru or such, so be assured I don't come big-mouthed, saying the following:
I'm getting used to rant when I see perspectives that itch my eye, and my first reaction when I saw this one was "huh, something's wrong about the rifle's angle". After a closer look, I think this feel comes from the tip of the it, the last part after the hand, which makes it look like rifle is parallel to the plane of the drawing, discording with the feel one gets from the lower part (held against the chest). Or maybe my analysis is plain wrong... What I'm sure of is there is a faint thing not-so faintly disturbing to the viewing stillness and pleasure.
This is pretty amazing, but I am compelled to say two things. One, the pose strikes me as very feminine, and two, he's got a tight strap going right down the middle of his crotch, which would, realistically, practically disable a man. I just looked at that, cringed because I felt his pain, and wanted to say that. Great art, tho.
